What materials are used in your chess sets?
Rosewood, ebony, sheesham, maple, and walnut — each chosen for how it plays and how it ages. Sheesham is durable and affordable. Ebony is dense with a deep, dark grain. Rosewood sits in between. All ethically and sustainably sourced.
How do you ship orders and how long does delivery take?
Orders are processed within up to 48 hours. Standard shipping is $25 USD below a $150 USD discounted merchandise subtotal and free at $150 USD or more. Delivery takes 5-8 business days. What is your return policy?
We offer a 30-day return window for eligible items in unused, original condition with proof of purchase. Return approval is required before shipping, and approved returns are coordinated through our India returns team. The return address is shared only after approval. Will I pay customs or import charges on delivery?
Customs duties, import taxes, and destination fees depend on local regulations. In some destinations these amounts are collected at checkout; in others they may be collected by local customs or carriers at delivery. How do I care for my chess set?
To maintain the beauty of your chess set, we recommend: 1) Store pieces in a dry, temperature-controlled environment away from direct sunlight. 2) Clean pieces gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or excessive moisture. 3) Polish wooden pieces occasionally with a quality wood polish or beeswax. 4) Handle pieces by their bases when possible to preserve the finish. 5) Store the board flat to prevent warping. With proper care, your set will last for generations.
Can I customize a chess set?
Yes. Personalised engraving (up to 30 characters), normally a $25 service, is currently complimentary on eligible boards and chess sets — just tick the engraving option on the product page and type your text. The text is engraved along the wooden frame of the board; a name, a name and a year, or a short phrase all work. For larger custom work such as custom piece designs or board personalization, contact us at info@stallionchess.com for a quote. Custom orders typically take 4-6 weeks, are subject to a 50% deposit, and are non-refundable once production begins.
What sizes are your chess sets?
Most players start with king height. Our range runs from compact 2.5" kings to full-size 3.75" tournament sets, and each product page lists the key dimensions for that item. If you need help matching pieces to a board, message us and we'll help.
Are your chess sets weighted?
Many of our wooden sets use metal inserts in the base for extra stability and a more solid feel in hand. Check the product spec to see whether a set is weighted, and whether it is double- or triple-weighted.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, and supported digital wallets during checkout. If a payment route fails, contact support and we can assist with a secure invoice flow.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
Yes. Gift wrapping is available for an additional $15 USD at checkout, and you can add a gift message at the same time.
Can I cancel my order and receive a refund?
Cancellation requests are accepted only before an order is processed for dispatch. Cancellation is not guaranteed, but our team will always try to stop fulfillment in time. If your order has already moved to shipping, you can request a return after delivery under our Returns Policy. Approved cancellations and refunds are returned to the original payment method under our Refund Policy.
